2014 Candidate for US House FL-19 Attended Emily's List Training in St. Pete

April Freeman the Democratic Candidate in the 2014 Congressional Race for Florida's 19th District was one of three candidates from our area who made the trip up to the Hampton Inn Event Center in St. Petersburg, Florida on May 17 for a day long campaign training known as POP (Political Opportunity Program) provided by Emily's List - the Nations largest political action committee for women.

The day is described as "Training by Fire-Hose" and packed full of information from how to comply to election regulations and schedules to how to make the crucial ASK for money and volunteers. Also in attendance were Candidates for Lee County Commission, Mayor of Cape Coral and three additional team members from the candidates campaigns.

April Freeman heads to Yale Law School in June and after the Emily's List training, she feels more energized and prepared for the elite political program offered by The Women's Campaign School at Yale where a select group of women each year are chosen from around the globe based on their potential to be great leaders while working with elected leaders across the aisle.
