Touring Lee County Port Authority / Awake the State

I spent part of today at the Slough in Ft. Myers... I took a tour and spoke with the fantastic people who are responsible for the daily operations.

What a beautiful preserve. The nature and wild life in such a fragile environment gives a clear perspective of what we're doing to harm their natural environment. I highly recommend you visit if you haven't already.

Another part of my day was spent touring the City of Palms Stadium, and discussing with the powers that be, what the plans are for the stadium. It's not vacant. They use the facility daily and while I was there the Puerto Rican National Team was heading in for practice.

Then I was off to Lee County Port Authority at Regional Southwest International Airport, where I was able to see how the airport is run. INTERESTING. I was even able to visit the on site Fire Rescue.

The Firefighters and EMT's put you at ease. If you were ever worried about your safety at the airport or while flying, you shouldn't be. They are well trained (new training daily) and on point. The equipment they use is impressive to say the least.

I finished my day at AWAKE the STATE... A protest rally held in 21 counties around the state of Florida to protest Voter Suppression.
